Spring Landfill Days 2022

A Landfill Days event sponsored by the City of Emporia/Lyon County begins Saturday, May 14^th, and continues through Sunday, May 22^nd. This year’s event rules have changed.

• Landfill Days will be limited to 1 trip for Residents of Lyon and Chase Counties.

 

• April 2022 Electric Bill must be presented to the Gate Attendant prior to entry to qualify.

 

• The first 1,000 pounds is free of charge. Additional materials over 1000 pounds will be charged at the normal rate as set by Section 23 -74 of the City of Emporia Ordinance (Trash @ $.2420 per 10 pounds/ Construction Demolition @ $.1310 per 10 pounds).

 

• Vehicle size for the event is restricted to passenger cars, light trucks (1 ton or less) or trailers.

 

• Commercial/Industrial businesses are not eligible for this event.

 

• The disposal of tires and appliances containing refrigerant will be charged at the normal rate.

Customers are reminded that all loads must be secured or covered to avoid a penalty fee
